Taekwondo(Re-done)
This is my 3rd Degree form. It's a major balance form and involves a lot of focus. I have been doing Taekwondo since August 2006 (Over 7 years), I am currently a 3rd Degree Black belt. This form is actually still new to me and there is much improvement still needed. Next year when I have my passport I will be going to ALL tournaments in hopes of getting into Top Ten and getting District Champ or Canada Champ. I doubt I'll get Canada Champ though since this is will be my first time competing at the country/worldwide level, but I may get District Champ. Only students in leadership can compete for Canada or World Champ because the only way you can get points is by being in leadership. I've been in leadership since 2009. Leadership is a class/group for students that wish to become instructors. For each level of teaching you get a collar on you uniform jacket. I have a red/black collar which is the first official level for juniors as you start out with a red/blue/white collar for level 0. To get this collar it is necessary to pass a teaching test, I took this test last year. It involves teaching a short 5 minutes class and trying to hit all the criteria of the level one teaching curriculum. Back to points, since I am in leadership I can earn points when I go to tournaments. The points are the same for sparring/forms and weapons 3rd place:1 point 2nd place:2 points 1st place: 3 points, but you can also get points for helping out either as a score or time keeper, which needs no previous training or for judging. I recently became a level 1 judge over the summer. This means I get a blue chevron on my uniform jacket sleeve and can judge people stances and kicks during a tournament. The qualification for this is very simple, you must be 15 or older and pass the online ATA (American Taekwondo Association) Level 1 Judging test with a 90% or higher. This year in training for next year I am going to all the local tournaments. The first one of the season that I am going to is on November 9th. I am competing in forms, sparring an weapons. I am going to post the videos and pictures from that afterwards. That's all for my Taekwondo byeeee.
